The foundation’s role is based on two complementary principles that appeal to our sense of humanism. First, vulnerability is viewed as a temporary condition, not an irreversible fate. Today’s vulnerable individuals, once supported, can become tomorrow’s donors. Second, each of us plays a leading role in development. Individual efforts and actions, however small, contribute to the transformation of our society and to social cohesion.

This vision draws its inspiration from the Bahá’í teachings, leading the Humanity Foundation to bring to life this excerpt from the sacred writings, which states, "The purpose for which mortals have passed from absolute nothingness into the realm of being is to work for the betterment of the world and to live together in concord and harmony.”

 

We cannot remain indifferent, especially when we see the deplorable situation of our fellow human beings or of our society in general.
